In March of 2010, Criminal Investigations Specialist Kelli Fanelli was attending an athletic event at Cypress Park with her children. While waiting in the park, Kelli observed a black colored Ford in the parking lot cruising slowly and not actually headed to any particular event. Kelli noticed the vehicle circling through the parking lot then pulling in and out of parking spaces. Maintaining visual contact of the vehicle, Kelli reported the incident to CSPD dispatch. Officers arrived on scene, questioned the subjects, which were later taken into custody for loitering and prowling. When Kelli responded to work the next day she accessed the park camera system and was able to learn that the same vehicle that she spotted in Cypress Park, where an arrest was made, was the same vehicle used to commit a vehicle burglary in North Community Park, earlier that day. Due to the observations of Kelli Fanelli, she was able to stop additional burglaries from occurring.
