June 24, 2011: Fire Academy offers full-time minimum standards fire courses
 

The Coral Springs Fire Training Academy is offering a full-time Minimum Fire Standards Course starting on Tuesday, July 26. This 450-hour course runs for 13 consecutive weeks, and meets Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $2,450 for the course and other fees apply. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, July 12.

Applications are available at www.CoralSpringsFireAcademy.org, under Applications. Interested participants must read and understand the requirements before submitting an application. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis. Bunker gear may be rented for the entire duration of the class.

The Physical Agility Test (PAT) is available on Sunday, July 17 at 8:30 a.m. Participants interested in a practice class for the PAT can do so on Friday, July 8 at 6 p.m. Please note that all medical exams must be completed at MedExpress Urgent Care, located at 1809 N. University Drive, Coral Springs. A mandatory state orientation will be on Tuesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at the Fire Academy.
