CSPD Explorers Win 2011 State Competition
 
During the week of June 19-25, Police Explorers from the Coral Springs Police Department took part in the 40th Annual 2011 Florida Association of Police Explorers Competition held in Orlando, Florida. There were a total of 31 Law Enforcement Agencies that competed in the event.
 
The Coral Springs Police Explorers won 1st Place Overall in the scenario based State Competition. Additionally, the Coral Springs Police Explorers won 1st Place in the "Active Shooter Scenario", 1st Place in the "In Progress Burglary Scenario", 1st Place in the "Search and Arrest Armed Burglary Scenario", 2nd Place in the "Traffic Crash Scenario", 3rd Place in the "Armed Robbery Scenario", 3rd Place in the "Felony Traffic Stop Scenario", and 4th Place in the Police Mountain Bike Course Competition.
 
The Coral Springs Police Explorers now have 2 State Championships; the last one was 2006 in Venice, Florida. With the 2011 State Championship win, this will be the 4th time in 40 years that a law enforcement agency team from South Florida has won the Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition.
