Learn how to dive at the Aquatic Complex. Diving is a full-scale recreational program featuring state-of-the-art equipment in one of the best outdoor facilities in the country. Students develop strength, flexibility and confidence while learning how to dive from the springboards and platforms. This program accommodates children ages six and up of all skill levels. All participants must be able to swim independently in 16-foot-deep water.
Lessons for beginners runs Monday through Fridays from August 22 to September 30 from 4 to 5 p.m and Saturdays from 8 to 9 a.m. Classes cost $55 for one day a week, and $50 per additional day. Intermediate level divers also train Monday through Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Classes cost $100 for two days a week, and $50 per additional day. High School divers will train Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. Classes cost $55 for one day a week, and $50 per additional day. AAU membership is required and costs $14.
For those interested in joining the Dive Pre-Team, tryouts will be held at the Aquatic Complex on Saturday, August 27 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. and Saturday, September 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. Divers must be eight to 12 years old.
Dive Coach Ivan Bondarenko has 17 years of extensive coaching experience, including lessons for multiple age groups, and coaching and mentoring National and International level divers. Bondarenko is member of a National Olympic Team of Republic of Kazakhstan 1991-2001, member of Junior Olympic Team of USSR 1989-1991, 12 time National Champion of Kazakhstan, participant of numerous FINA Diving events, including World Championships, Grand Prix, World Cups, Bronze Medalist of CanAmex Grand Prix.
