August 22, 2011 Motor Officer Injured in Accident
A Coral Springs Police Motor Officer was injured this morning as result on a two-vehicle accident at the 3600 block of Coral Ridge Drive.
Preliminary investigation shows that around 8:37 a.m., Officer John Malvin was traveling north on Coral Ridge Drive on his department issued Harley Davidson when he struck the rear driver’s side of a Broward County School bus driven by Margaret Carter, 58, of Coconut Creek. Carter was attempting to turn south on Coral Ridge Drive from NW 36 Street. Officer Malvin was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest on the east side of Coral Ridge Drive.
Officer Malvin was air lifted to North Broward Medical Center with fractures to his shoulder, kneecap, finger and several ribs. The driver and the three juvenile passengers on the bus were not injured.
