During the Tuesday, September 20, City Commission meeting, officials recognized the September 11 Planning Committee for their commitment to honoring the families and the victims of the September 11, 2001 tragedies.
“Without the planning committee and the sponsors, the annual tribute would not be possible in the way that we do it. This year, we had a survivor from the World Trade Center come out of the crowd…every year, more people come out and they are very humbled that they have a place to go,” Gina Orlando said.
“We all want to thank you for all of your efforts for this spectacular event, but primarily for the spirit in which you produce it each year,” Vice Mayor Claudette Bruck said.
