A Coral Springs teenager was killed early this morning in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Coral Ridge Drive.
Preliminary investigation shows that around 12:10 a.m., a 2010 Nissan truck being driven by Wayne McIntosh, 47, of Hollywood was traveling south on Coral Ridge Drive when it struck a 2004 Honda Civic being driven by Maria Uribe, 52, of Coral springs at the intersection of Riverside Drive. Uribe was traveling west on Riverside Drive at the time of the crash. After the impact, the Nissan continued south striking a tree and the west side of Riverside Elementary School causing extensive damage to the school.
Uribe’s passenger, Alejandro Romeo, 17, of Coral Springs was pronounced dead on scene. Uribe was transported to North Broward Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. McIntosh and his passenger, Claude Noralis, 19, of Fort Lauderdale were transported to North Broward Medical in serious condition.
Uribe had a flashing red light and McIntosh had a flashing yellow light at the time of the crash.
