Committee highlights Coral Springs businesses throughout the decades

The Historical Advisory Committee is currently exhibiting “Taking Care of Business,” which explores the history of business throughout the decades in Coral Springs.  The exhibit is on display at the lobby of the Center for the Arts.

Starting with the 1960s, the display highlights the first businesses in Coral Springs, including real estate development, as well as the 1980s and 1990s when retail shopping soared. The display features creative miniatures of scenes from Coral Springs, and ends with the current 2000s focusing on the importance of small businesses and commercial revitalization.

“The Committee wanted to present the expansion of commerce from real estate to businesses supporting the growing City, as well as attracting surrounding residents,” City Historian Wendy Wangberg said.
