February 20, 2012 Body Identified as Port St. Lucie Homicide Suspect

Coral Springs police responded to a call of a male lying on the north side of the 7100 block of Sample Road approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning. Upon arrival, officers noticed a deceased white male lying in the grass just north of the roadway. The male had a severe wound to the top of his head. Officers immediately recognized the clothing the man was wearing as the clothing description of a homicide suspect that Port St. Lucie police and Coral Springs police have been actively searching for.

The body was identified by fingerprints and distinguishing marks as homicide suspect Mikhail Sergatiouk, 60, of Coral Springs. It appears that Sergatiouk died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, however final determination of death is pending results from the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.
