Students from local high schools will be competing at the DECA state level competition in Orlando on March 1-4, 2012. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
Students from four of the five schools in Coral Springs, including J.P. Taravella, Stoneman Douglas, Coral Glades and Coral Springs Charter School, were awarded in the district level and will be competing at the state competition. Students qualified through a 30-page written research projects, which focused on developing customer loyalty plans for local businesses. Students will explain their project using a PowerPoint presentation at the state competition. The students will also participate in role-playing events in front of business people as judges.
