At the March 27, 2012 meeting, the Broward College Board of Trustees approved all of the necessary documents to commence construction of the satellite campus in Downtown Coral Springs. Construction of the satellite campus began on April 2.
Broward College Downtown Coral Springs will be located in the Village Square shopping center at the northwest corner of University Drive and Sample Road, where the College will lease approximately 19,000 square feet.
The new Broward College Coral Springs Center will offer day, evening and weekend classes focusing on Bachelors and Associate Degrees, and college credit certificates in high wage, high demand occupations. Continuing education classes leading to certifications will also be offered and the Coral Springs Charter School will continue to be utilized for this purpose, as well as for overflow from the satellite campus. Classes are expected to begin on August 24, 2012.
Bringing Broward College to Coral Springs and providing residents with the opportunity to get a college degree in their own City is the result of a successful collaboration among the City, CRA, Economic Development Foundation, Amera Corporation and Broward College.
