Sgt. Bill Floyd oversees both the Bicycle and Substation Units. Under his direction the Bicycle Unit’s patrol and surveillance tactics were instrumental in creating a 14.8 % reduction in vehicle burglaries in 2011 compared to 2010. Additionally members of the Bicycle Unit conducted numerous operations in the area of The Walk to combat strong-arm robberies in the area, resulting in two suspects being arrested in October.
In August and September Sgt. Floyd orchestrated a daytime burglary operation in which a total of 49 arrests were made. Working under his command both Units made a combined total of 461 arrests while also dedicating time to pro-active partnership with Code Enforcement and the Parks Department. Under his direction both Unit’s overtime usage came in under budget, while still exceeding their established goals and objectives.
