While conducting proactive surveillance in the area of ‘The Walk”, Officer Hosler observed suspicious vehicle activity between a Dodge Neon and Mitsubishi Eclipse in the parking lot of the La Quinta Hotel. Officer Hosler stopped the Mitsubishi Eclipse and asked members of the Bike Unit to initiate a stop with the Neon. Through interview Officer Hosler learned that the two vehicles observed had been involved in a drug transaction. The Bike Unit interview of the Neon also revealed that the occupants had been victims of a drug robbery just shortly before being stopped, by a third vehicle involved, a Lincoln Navigator. The suspects proceeded to provide vauge information as to the whereabouts of the Lincoln Navigator. After a thorough search Officer Hosler was able to locate the Navigator. A traffic stop was conducted at which time Xanax and Oxycodone pills from the earlier robbery were identified. Additionally, it was revealed that a third suspect known to be armed and dangerous and wanted on numerous felony warrants was hiding out in another location in the City. After a short period of surveillance Patrol units successfully apprehended the additional suspect who was found to have a large Bowie knife on his person. As a result of Officer Hosler’s efforts, two criminal informants were developed, a Lincoln Navigator was seized for forfeiture, two subjects were placed under arrest and narcotics were effectively taken off of our City streets.
