A man was shot and killed last night during a domestic dispute at the 5300 block of NW 126 Drive.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., Coral Springs police received several calls reference to a loud dispute and gunshot heard at the 5300 block of NW 126 drive. When officers arrived they discovered a male identified as Glenroy Jacobs, 46, of Coral Springs deceased in the driveway from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper chest. Officers also located a female at a neighbor’s residence with a severe laceration to her hand.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Jacobs and his girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute inside the residence. At some point during the argument Jacobs armed himself with a machete and the female armed herself with a firearm. As a result of the weapons, the female suffered a severe laceration to hand and Jacobs was shot.
Jacobs and the female have been involved in an on and off boyfriend/girlfriend relationship for the past four years.
Present during the altercation was the female’s 13 year-old daughter and the couples 2 ½ year old daughter. Neither child was injured.
The female was transported to North Broward Medical Center where she is currently in stable in condition.
Cause of death is pending the results of the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office ruling.
