Coral Springs- At 10:00 p.m. on Friday July 6th, 2012, several 911 calls reported a child was struck by a car in the 10800 block of Royal Palm Boulevard. Coral Springs Fire Department crews responded to the scene where they found a teenager lying on the ground, unconscious and barely breathing. The child was quickly packaged and transported to Broward Health North in critical condition.
The identity of the child has not been determined. The child is described as a white male, possibly fifteen to seventeen years of age, riding a bicycle.
The driver of the vehicle who struck the child remained on the scene after the crash.
The Coral Springs Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call (954) 344-1800.
