The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the City of Coral Springs, Florida with the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year 2011.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The City’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel as meeting the high standards of this program.
“It is an honor to again receive the Certificate of Achievement, which emphasizes clear and full disclosure of financial information. The City’s CAFR is an important part of telling the City’s financial story, and this award recognizes our dedication to providing the most accurate and complete information to the City’s residents, businesses and investors,” Director of Finance Melissa Heller said.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit professional association serving nearly 17,400 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
