Coral Springs Aquatic Complex to host two major meets in 2013-2014

Swimmers will make a big splash in the main competition pool at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex in 2013 and 2014.  Swimmers will compete in the Florida Gold Coast Short Course Junior Olympics in March and the Long Course Senior Championships will compete in July.

Spectators are welcome for a nominal fee. The competition will feature some of the best swimmers in South Florida, who will be contending for top places and striving to beat the record times in individual events. More than 1,350 athletes are expected to participate. Come and enjoy some fun in the sun and support these talented swimmers.

“Landing the Sunshine State Games Water Polo Championships is a real feather in our cap because it will raise the City’s profile internationally,” Aquatics Director Mike McGoun said. “Bringing these games to Coral Springs will also benefit our local businesses due to the large number of athletes and spectators who will visit Coral Springs during the event.”

Volunteers are needed for these events. From timers to meet marshals and gift bag stuffers, there is an opportunity for anyone to help. For more information, please call 954-345-2121.
