Recognizing an opportunity to move CSPD forward technologically while also improving our environmental consciousness, Ann Marie created a detailed proposal to eliminate the hard copy distribution of General Orders and instead distribute them electronically on thumb drives.
Production of hard copy General Orders required two hours of manpower and over 1,000 pages of paper per book! Ann Marie’s proposal included everything from pricing the materials to the creation of an easy to use manual on how to maintain the book on thumb drive for our tech challenged members. With the approval of retired Deputy Chief Montagna the new thumb drives went into distribution to new employees late last year.
As a result of Ann Marie’s initiative, General Orders are now conveniently portable and easily accessible by MDB. Converting to an electronic format has saved natural resources as well as manpower that can be better served on more productive tasks. It is for this reason that Ann Marie is being awarded an Administrative Service Commendation.
