A traffic stop of a white Lexus late last year resulted in a request for back-up by the officer due to the nervous demeanor of all three occupants. Officer Eason as well as two additional officers responded. Upon making contact with the occupants Officer Eason remembered an armed robbery call that had occurred about a week prior in which a suspect matching that of one of the occupants’ pistol whipped a prostitute and attempted to steal her money. Making the connection Officer Eason requested a supervisor and detective respond to the scene. The responding detective noticed a bite on the passenger’s thumb consistent with the victim statement of the armed robbery. Investigation resulted in the victim of the pistol whipping armed robbery positively identifying the passenger as the culprit. A victim in Margate was also able to positively identify all of the individuals in the vehicle as robbery suspects from another separate incident about a week earlier. All suspects were charged with armed robberies in both jurisdictions.
