On March 23, 2013, the TJ Maxx located at 1200 University Drive, in Coral Springs, was robbed at gun point. During the robbery the suspect forced the manager and security officer into the cash office at gun point, and made them open the safe. After thousands of dollars in cash was stolen from the safe, the suspect made the two employees walk in front of him to allow him to exit out the front doors and flee.
The suspect was identified as Ranier Cox, 30, of Boynton Beach. He has been in custody since April 11, 2013, at Broward County Jail, with no bond, for eight other armed robbery charges, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
