Tennis programs available this Fall

The City of Coral Springs will be offering a full slate of tennis programs for the Fall season beginning the week of August 26. The comprehensive program, conducted at Cypress Park and the Tennis Center at the Sportsplex, includes various programming for children and adults of all ages and ability levels.

The Junior Program will offer group lessons (4-week sessions) starting with USPTA Little Tennis (4-6 year old) continuing thru the Junior Tennis Academy for the more advanced students. Entry into the Junior Academy program requires an evaluation. There will also be a Junior Team Tennis League on Saturday afternoons. Teams are divided by ages, starting with the 10 and under division, using the new Quickstart format, using shorter rackets and softer tennis balls. There is also a 12 and under division, as well as 14 and under. The Junior Team Tennis League will begin in mid-October and continue for 6 weeks. Advance registration is required.

For the newer and/or less experienced student, there will be a Rallyball league starting in mid-October and running for 6 weeks. This is for students in grades K-5, who have never played or have had instruction but are not ready for full court play.

The Adult Tennis program will include group lessons for all ability levels as well as private lessons by appointment. There are also Drill classes on Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings, as well as Cardio Tennis classes on Friday mornings. The program also includes league play for men and women, both daytime and nights. There will be various social Round-Robins and Friday Night Mixed Doubles tennis.
