Join us at the kick-off event to celebrate peace and understanding at The International Day of Peace celebration on Friday, September 20 at 7:45 a.m. at the International Peace Garden, located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive, adjacent to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
Everyone is invited as City officials, students and local talent help us celebrate with music, art and the planting of Pinwheels for Peace. View the hand-crafted Peace Pole which was planted in the garden as a permanent symbol of our commitment to being an inclusive community. The beautiful copper Peace Pole was co- sponsored by the Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee, One Planet United, Inc, and the Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association. A light breakfast will follow.
On Saturday, September 21 at 8 a.m., there will be a Silent Peace Walk at the International Peace Garden.
Then, Whole Foods Market® Coral Springs, also celebrating their 15th Anniversary, will pay tribute to Coral Springs’ 50th Birthday on Saturday, September 21 by hosting Coffee and Conversation about Peace at 9 a.m. Other events are planned throughout the day, including Chalk 4 Peace from noon to 4 p.m., live entertainment and Commissioners cutting an anniversary cake at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, September 22 from noon to 4 p.m., residents can sample products and register for prizes throughout Whole Foods Market® Coral Springs. There will also be a Green Beans Cooking Competition at 2 p.m. in honor of the City’s history. Whole Foods Market® Coral Springs is located at 810 N. University Drive.
