The City of Coral Springs is presently seeking two (2) applicants to serve on the Charter School Advisory Board. This Board advises the City Commission, City administration and various City departments on matters concerning the Coral Springs Charter School. The Board meetings are held on a monthly basis.
There is a vacancy for a business representative. Qualifications include residing in Coral Springs or conducting business within the boundaries of Coral Springs, evidenced by a valid business tax license issued by the City of Coral Springs. This member will be appointed to an initial two-year term.
There is an upcoming vacancy for an educational/administrative representative. Qualifications include residing in Coral Springs and having definable experience with administrative matters in an educational setting.
The Board is comprised of three parent representatives, two business community representatives, one education/administrative representative, and a representative of the Coral Springs City Commission. Additionally, there are three alternate parent representatives who may be called upon to attend meetings in the event of absences by one or more parent representatives. The Deputy City Manager of the City of Coral Springs and the Principal of the Coral Springs Charter School serve as ex-officio Board members.
All City of Coral Springs boards, advisory boards, committees or miscellaneous other members serve without benefit of compensation.
