Officer Michelle Kull – Community Involvement Commendation
Officer Kull has served as a member of the RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Team since December of 2011. Understanding the importance of the RAD program and how it impacts our community, Officer Kull recognized that the program needed to develop further and expose the public to the realities of what RAD teaches. Officer Kull arranged for Julie Weil to come to Coral Springs and teach the story of her rape survival. Julie Weil is a nationally recognized speaker who was the victim of a rape in 2002. Officer Kull made all the logistical arrangements necessary to bring Julie Weil to our city. Officer Kull also composed a flyer for public notice of the presentation and arranged for that flyer to be displayed at multiple public locations and to be shown on Channel 25. Over thirty citizens showed up to hear Julie’s survival speech. Officer Kull is directly responsible for working towards the department’s goals and objectives of reducing violent crime by presenting Julie Weil as a speaker. It is for this reason she is being awarded the Community Involvement Commendation.
