On June 16th, Officer Lamson was dispatched to a call reference a 2-year old drowning. She arrived on scene to find the child’s grandfather administering CPR. Unable to immediately tell if the child had resumed breathing, Officer Lamson swiftly obtained control of the situation and immediately took over administering CPR to the child. Upon seeing that water had expelled from the child she quickly delivered several back blows and resumed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. As a result of the child’s grandfather and Officer Lamson’s CPR efforts, the child’s life was saved. It is for this reason Officer Lamson is being awarded the Life Saving Commendation.
