Our department’s team of Traffic Accident Investigators is arguably one of the hardest working groups of employees within the City. Our Traffic Accident Investigators directly enable our entire force of Law Enforcement Officers to focus on higher risk, in-progress crimes. In addition to their normal duties, the Traffic Accident Investigator team collaboratively exceeded their goals by issuing 27% more citations that was expected of them. They also distributed more than double the amount of Make a Call, Make a Difference promotional materials they were tasked with.
Additionally, they assisted with a multitude of community events including the Senior Car Fit Program, Prescription Take-Back initiative, Project Lifesaver , Shred-a-thons and Safety Town…to name a few. They have also individually taken on additional departmental responsibilities such as TAI Caruso’s involvement with Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) as an instructor and TAI Carmichael’s contribution as a role player in the Citizen’s Police Academy and Junior Police Academy. Our TAI’s are truly one of the most productive groups of team members within our department. It is for this reason they are being given the Team Citation Award.
