While conducting proactive residential patrol in the early morning hours of his shift, Officer Bromley observed two subjects suspiciously dragging unknown items from the trunk of a car to the rear of a residence. He detained the suspects and called back-up in order to conduct further investigation.
Upon investigation, Officer Bromley noticed several long, copper wires in the trunk of the vehicle and in the yard. The primary suspect admitted to removing the wire from the BJ’s construction site. Detectives responded the next day and confirmed that the retailer did in fact wish to press charges. As a result of Officer Bromley’s proactive policing and observations the suspect was charged with Burglary Business and Grand Theft.
Additionally, $3,000 in copper wire was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. It is for these reasons that Officer Bromley is awarded and Exceptional Police Initiative Commendation.
