  • Installation of a flat screen TV in the East Wing conference room to enable Public Works’ staff meetings and other users to have paperless agendas via laptop.

  • Coordinated the installation of an energy efficient “green” roof as Phase 1 of the Charter School roof replacement.

  • Installed motion sensors in restrooms for automatic shut off when unoccupied.

  • Implemented Utilities Recycling project of used underground components such as old fire hydrants, valves, meters, motors, and pumps.

  • Installation of LED hideaway lights on emergency vehicles that reduce heat, create greater visibility, and have a longer warranty.

  • The garage staff purchases hand towels and soaps made of recycled materials.

  • The garage purchased a machine to recycle engine coolant, allowing for reuse and eliminating the disposal of hazardous waste.

  • The garage purchased a new synthetic transmission fluid with a longer operating life, saving storage space within Central Stores.

  • Implemented scanning of work requests to Broward County in lieu of faxing and receiving results via email eliminating paper on both ends.
