The Move Over bicycle safety campaign is the City’s ongoing commitment to vehicle and rider safety. The name is a play on Florida’s law requiring drivers to give cyclists three feet of space when passing on the road.
The City has undertaken several programs to promote the Move Over initiative.
The Coral Springs Police Department is rewarding children 16 and under who are caught wearing bicycle helmets with a free lunch to Chik-Fil-A.
City employees and members of a local cycling club participated in the annual Holiday Parade. Riders put signs on their bikes promoting the Move Over initiative.
The City, in its quest to remain a Commit 2B Fit community, participated in a community-wide health and wellness event. Materials promoting bike safety, along with the Move Over campaign, were given out to attendees.
