Police Chief Duncan Foster

Chief Foster began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1986. Chief Foster served as a Road Patrol Officer until 1989, at which time he transferred to the Traffic Unit where he spent 4 years as a Motorcycle Officer. In 1993, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant with assignments in the Patrol and Traffic Units. In 1996 Chief Foster was promoted to Major and served as the commander of both Patrol and Criminal Investigations.  In 2003, he was promoted to Deputy Chief and subsequently appointed to Chief in 2005.

Chief Foster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.  Additionally, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association and a member of the Police Executive Research Forum.
