Traffic Unit

Currently, there are nine motorcycle officers and a supervisor in the Traffic Unit. The Unit also has one volunteer who assists in the City's traffic calming program. The officers assigned to the Traffic Unit are responsible for enforcing all State and local traffic laws and ordinances. The officers also investigate motor vehicle crashes. Officers in the unit are on call 24 hours a day to handle traffic crashes involving fatalities.
