HUMAN BONES FOUND IN CANAL

Coral Springs detectives are investigating the discovery of human bones found in a canal near Riverside Drive and Coral Ridge Drive in Coral Springs.

On July 17, 2001 at around 11:40 AM, divers cleaning out a culvert found a large bone and notified the police. The bone was taken to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office where it was determined to be a human leg bone.

On July 18, 2001, divers discovered more bones in the same area. Detectives and the Medical Examiner's Office are working to identify the remains.
