DRIVER SHOT ON UNIVERSITY DRIVE

On September 25, 2001 at approximately 6:00 pm the Coral Springs Police were dispatched to the area of University Drive and the Sawgrass Expressway regarding a motor vehicle crash. Upon the officers' arrival they found that a 1999 Infinity SUV had crashed into the wall at the entrance to Magnolia Plaza on University Drive. While removing the victim, Mr. Zachary Fagan, age 52 of Coral Springs from the vehicle, he advised rescue personnel that he had been shot.

Mr. Fagan advised that while he was driving southbound on University Drive at the Sawgrass Expressway, a late model silver BMW pulled alongside and shot him. Mr. Fagan lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Magnolia Plaza sign. He was transported to North Broward Hospital in critical condition. Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Det. Nick Iarriccio at 346-1295 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477.

UPDATE
The Coral Springs Police are attempting to locate Elvin Rodriguez of Boca Raton for questioning regarding the above incident. Mr. Rodriguez is a 36 year old white male, approximately 5'8", 165 lbs., with brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos. He was last seen driving a late model silver BMW with Florida tag U27CVE.
