JOINT INVESTIGATION YIELDS ARREST IN COMPUTER PORN CASE

On May 31, 2001, Coral Springs Police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested a man who made arrangements to meet a detective posing as a 14 year old boy in an America On-Line (AOL) chat room for the purpose of having sex. Arrested was Uray Wardell Maynor, 4812 N. State Road 7, Coconut Creek, Florida, DOB 04/19/73 for the offense of Computer Pornography.

A detective from the Coral Springs Police Sex Crimes Unit logged on to an AOL chat room and received messages from Maynor that he would like to meet him for the purpose of sexual activity. The detective contacted a special agent from FDLE and found out that the agent, too, had a similar conversation with Maynor approximately three weeks prior.

A time and place was arranged and Maynor drove from his residence to Coral Springs. When Maynor arrived at the meeting place he was arrested.
