The Coral Springs Police Department will be hosting a free child safety seat check at The Day School located at the corner of Westview Drive and University Drive in Coral Springs on Saturday, May 5, 2001 from 10:00 AM until noon. Another one will be held at Hunt Elementary School located at Woodside Drive and NW 35 Court on Saturday, May 12, 2001 from 10:00 AM until noon.
Child safety technicians trained by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will be conducting the checks and will teach parents and caregivers how to properly install child safety seats. Previous seat checks have shown that approximately 95% of the car seats were installed incorrectly.
