The mission of the Pediatric Drowning Prevention Task Force is to provide “education to the residents in and around Coral Springs to protect children from drowning.” This education will be multi-faceted and targeted to all families with children. One way in which we are attempting to get this information out to the community is through a speaker’s bureau. We have put together a presentation intended to educate families on how to make their home and surroundings safer when children are near water.
We would like to make our speakers available to all community groups, houses of worship, homeowners associations, business meetings or other community events. The speakers have varying backgrounds including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics, and interested individuals. They all have a wealth of knowledge and share the common goal of protecting all children from water related accidents. Our group also includes individuals who can make presentations in Spanish or Creole.
If your group is interested in a presentation, please call the Pediatric Drowning Prevention Task Force in the Community Education Department at Broward Health Coral Springs. Our phone number is (954) 344-3344 and our e-mail address is CSMCCommunityEd@nbhd.org
