Affordable Housing Advisory Committee

Overview

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is responsible for advising the City Commission on matters related to affordable housing and the administration of state housing assistance programs such as the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program.

Qualifications

The Committee consists of ten (10) members, each serving a three-year term of office, who are engaged in the specified industry in connection with affordable housing:

  • One citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry.
  • One citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry.
  • One citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building.
  • One citizen who is actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons.
  • One citizen who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing.
  • One citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.
  • One citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional.
  • One citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency pursuant to Section 163.3174, Florida Statutes.
  • One citizen who resides within the municipal boundaries of the City of Coral Springs.
  • One citizen who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the City’s Local Housing Assistance Plan.
