Unsafe Structures Board

Overview

The Unsafe Structures Board is a quasi-judicial arm of the City’s code enforcement process and hears cases pertaining to potential violations of the City’s Minimum Housing Code and the Florida Building Code. The Board meets on an “as-needed” basis.

Qualifications

The Board consists of nine (9) voting members, each serving a three (3) year term of office:

  • a registered engineer
  • a registered architect
  • a general building contractor
  • an electrical contractor
  • an attorney
  • a plumbing contractor
  • a real estate appraiser
  • a real estate property manager
  • a citizen with experience and background in the field of social problems
