Clyde Parry started his career with the City of Coral Springs Police Department in May 1987. Chief Parry worked his way up through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Chief of Police.
Chief Parry served as a patrol officer until 1989, at which time he was transferred to the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit. During his tenure with the VIN Unit, he was assigned to the Fort Lauderdale District Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, serving as a Task Force Officer from 1997 until 2006.
In late 2006, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant serving in the Patrol Unit and then the Vice, Intelligence & Narcotics Unit. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2010 where he supervised patrol (Platoon One Bravo.) Then in May 2010, he was promoted to captain of the Patrol Component. On April 21, 2012, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of the Operations Division. Chief Parry served as Interim Chief in latter 2017 and in early 2018. In March of 2018, Chief Parry was hired as Coral Spring’s sixth Chief of Police.
Chief Parry was “Officer of the Year” in 2002 and “Supervisor of the Year” in 2007. He received several Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer Awards from the United States Attorney’s Office, an Exceptional Police Initiative Commendation in 1999, a Unit Citation in 1999, a Team Citation Award in 2009, and has received numerous letters of commendation from both the public and other law enforcement agencies throughout his career.
Chief Parry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, the Law Enforcement Executive Development Academy’s (LEEDA) Command Institution for Law Enforcement Executives, and the prestigious FBI National Academy.
