Battalion Chief Mike Ferrara

Battalion Chief Mike Ferrara joined the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department in 1997. Prior to this, Chief Ferrara was a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Riviera Beach Fire Department where he was recognized several times for his outstanding performance on emergency calls. Chief Ferrara left the Riviera Beach Fire Department as a step up Driver/Engineer to pursue a career with the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department where he has worked his way up through the ranks holding positions of Firefighter Paramedic, Lead Medic/Rescue Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/Fire Captain, and was recognized as Firefighter of the Year in 2002.

Chief Ferrara has served as Battalion Chief since 2004 and is currently on C-shift. Chief Ferrara is a state certified Fire Officer, Fire Instructor and has earned the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Chief Ferrara also serves as the Lead Instructor for the Coral Springs Fire Academy's Daytime Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Program and has been instrumental in the development of the award-winning program.
