Deputy Chief Mike Moser

Chief Moser began his career as a Fire Explorer at age 14. He went on to become a police and fire dispatcher with the City of Fort Lauderdale, a Public Safety Aide with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, a Fire Rescue dispatcher with BSO, and then joined Coral Springs as a volunteer in 2000.

After being hired full time in 2001, Mike has been involved in many different areas of the department as well as other community and professional organizations. In 2005, he was promoted to Driver Engineer, in 2009 to Lieutenant and in 2010 to Captain. He served as a step-up Battalion Chief before being promoted to Division Chief in 2014 and was appointed Deputy Fire Chief in February 2020.

Mike previously served as a member of FEMA USAR Florida Task Force II, and was deployed to Gulfport, MS after Hurricane Katrina, and Haiti in 2010 after the area was devastated by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. As our Public Information Officer, he has been deployed all over the country to help victims of Hurricanes Ike, Charlie, Katrina, and Michael.

Mike was awarded the Firehouse Magazine Heroism and Community Service Award in 2002, Broward County EMT of the Year in 2003, State of Florida PIO of the Year in 2008, as well as multiple unit and team citations for specialty rescue calls within the City of Coral Springs.
