The City of Coral Springs Police Department serves approximately 134,000 residents with 228 police officers and 99 civilian members. The department is dedicated to providing the highest level of professional service to our citizens, businesses and the visitors we serve.

Chief Bradley McKeone

Coral Springs Police Chief Bradley McKeone began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1999 where he first served as a patrol officer and a field training officer. During his career, he’s served as a sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and deputy chief. He was promoted to Police Chief in June 2022. Chief McKeone holds many degrees, certifications, and honors.

911 Emergency Communications Center

CALEA Gold Standard - TransparentThe Coral Springs Police Department received its first law enforcement national accreditation in 1988 and will be undergoing its tenth on-site reaccreditation review in July 2024. The Communications Center of the Department received its initial accreditation in 2007 and will be undergoing its fifth re-accreditation review. 

The Coral Springs Police Department has to comply with over 480 law enforcement and 212 communication national standards in order to maintain accredited status with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA).

CALEA accreditation Public Comment

The Coral Springs Police Department first became accredited in November 1988. The Department complies with 480 national standards, every four years, and 92 state standards, every three years in order to maintain its’ accredited status. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies is the monitor for our national accreditation and The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation monitors the state program.

The Accreditation Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of all accreditation files and:

  • Ensuring all written directives are in compliance with CALEA, and CFA standards.
  • Distributing "Required Reports Tracking Forms" to all Unit and Division Supervisors responsible for the completion of those reports.
  • Tracking mandatory reports due from specific Departmental organizational sections and ensuring these reports are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained in the accreditation process.
  • Amend and author written directives.
  • Circulate concurrence/ non-concurrence memorandum for new and amended written directives.

The Coral Springs Police Department Evidence Unit receives, catalogs and stores evidentiary, abandoned, forfeited and found property in accordance with state and local laws. The Evidence Unit stores more than 49,000 items including bicycles, jewelry, office equipment, luggage, household items, electronic equipment and more.
