Passport Services Office

The City of Coral Springs, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, Passport Division, offers a convenient location to apply for a U.S. Passport.

Overview

The Passport Services Office brings Coral Springs government to the people by providing passport and fingerprinting services for residents.

To improve productivity and reduce the time spent waiting for services at the Passport Services Office, we use the QLess Virtual Check-In System. QLess allows visitors to spend NO time in line so they can complete their business quickly and efficiently.

Step 1.Services Available

  • Passport Services including passport photos, and more.
  • NOTE: We do not accept DS-82 Adult Renewals. This is a mail-in application that is mailed in by you, the applicant and processed through the U.S. Department of State)
  • Fingerprinting Services
  • Fax and Photocopy Services
  • Notary Services - There is a $10 fee for each signature block.
  • Voter Registration Applications

Step 2.Join the Waitlist for Same-Day Service

  • During operational hours, customers must sign up to join a waitlist for same-day service through the QLess Virtual Check-In System. We will not accept walk-ins. Same-day service is not available on Saturdays.
  • Once you join the waitlist, you will be notified via text message when it is your turn. You may wait in the car or enjoy shopping at the mall while waiting. Congregating in front of the Passport Services Office is prohibited.
  • Due to the high volume of customers, we suggest checking the system at 10 a.m. on the same day that you would like service. QLess will close when we have reached the daily capacity. 
  • All visitors must have the application (DS-11)filled out (black ink only, no corrections and not signed), along with necessary documents, before checking in.

Step 3.Make an Appointment

  • Not looking for same-day service? A limited number of appointments are available and can be made through the QLess Virtual System.
  • Appointments are only available on Tuesdays, Thursdays between 3 and 6 p.m. and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Due to the high demand, appointments tend to fill up weeks in advance. We recommend checking at 6 p.m. for any next-day cancelations.

Passport Services

Step 1.Applications

  • Our Passport Office only accepts the DS-11applications. This form is for first time applicants, renewals for minors or if you are not eligible to use the renewal form DS-82.
  • If you are eligible to use the DS-82 Adult Renewal application, this will be mailed in by you the applicant to the US Department of State. We do not accept the DS-82 application, this is a mail-in form.
  • Anyone applying for a US Passport Book or Card must appear in person, this includes minors.
  • Please check the U.S. Department of State website for processing times.
  • If you require translation or need assistance with your passport application, please call 954-344-1828 in advance to make accommodations to meet your specific needs.

Step 2.Fees

We do not accept foreign currency/checks.

Adult Passport Book Fees: 16 years of age and over

  • $130 application fee payable to the U.S. Department of State (Check or Money Order- starter checks are not acceptable )
  • $35 execution fee payable to the City of Coral Springs (Cash, Money Order, Debit Cards, Credit Cards: Mastercard/Visa)

Child Passport Book Fees: 15 years of age and under

  • $100 application fee payable to the U.S. Department of State (Check or Money Order-starter checks are not acceptable)
  • $35 execution fee payable to the City of Coral Springs (Cash, Money Order, Debit Cards, Credit Cards: Mastercard/Visa)

Expedite Service:
Please check the U.S. Department of State website for processing times.

  • An added $60 fee for each passport payable to the U.S. Department of State (No foreign check or foreign currency will be accepted.)
  • U.S. Express Mail charges are based on current postal rates. (Fees are made payable to the US Department of State for the return of the U.S. Passport).  Call 954-344-1828 to inquire about amount.

Step 3.Passport Photos

  • Passport photos are available for $15.15 for a set of two - colored photos.
  • For health and safety reasons, visitors must bring a solid white/off-white sheet or pillowcase for photographing babies and toddlers (ages newborn to 3 years of age.)

You must mail in your renewal application (Form DS-82). U.S. Passport Services recommends you ask USPS (United States Postal Service) to send your Form DS-82 and supporting documents using a trackable delivery method. Do not use UPS, FedEx, or DHL since the address you need to send your Form DS-82 and supporting documents to is a Post Office (PO) Box.

Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting services are offered only on Wednesdays from 12 to 6 p.m.

The Passport Office does not fingerprint for the following: expungement, name changes, concealed weapons, immigration, alcohol and tobacco licenses.

Customer must supply their own card or may buy card onsite. The cost is $15 per card. (The fingerprinting cards are often used for job related purposes, such as insurance, health care workers, child care, and real estate.)
