District Representatives that will be in attendance include:
David J. Schonfeld, MD, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and Director of the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement (www.schoolcrisiscenter.org) will provide a brief presentation and answer questions.
Charlene M. Grecsek, EdD, LMHC, Broward County Public Schools SEDNET Coordinator, Region 10 Director for Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition (http://floridasuicideprevention.org/) will summarize the suicide prevention initiatives within the school district as a whole and those that have been in place at MSD, as well as the plans for future activities at MSD for staff, students and caregivers, and answer questions about assessing and addressing suicide risks among children and adolescents.
Representatives of the Wellness Center at MSD will summarize services available at MSD for emotional support and answer your questions. Behavioral health services and supportive programs within the community will have representatives on hand to share many of the available resources. All presenters welcome the opportunity to learn from families how best to provide ongoing support.
