EMS Committee

  • Divisions:Boards and Committees
The EMS Committee meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Broward Medical Examiner's Office at 9:00 a.m., with the exception of the December meeting which is located in the host city for that particular year. The Committee is made up of EMS Chiefs from each fire department in Broward County. In addition, the Committee meetings are attended by EMS medical directors, EMS support staff, representatives of the hospitals, health department, trauma services, and critical incident stress management (CISM), as well as vendors of EMS equipment. A report is given by representatives of the key areas that effect EMS in order to keep the entire EMS Chiefs current on issues that affect the delivery of EMS in Broward County. This committee makes recommendations to the Fire Chiefs Association of Broward County, Inc. on EMS issues that require their attention. The EMS Committee has been the driving force behind the cutting edge pre-hospital care that is delivered by fire rescue systems throughout Broward County. Note: This committee is separate, independent and autonomous from the City of Coral Springs, and not intended to exist or be construed as an agency or arm of the City. However, this listing is provided for your information as the City Commission appoints one (1) member to the Board of Directors.
