Coral Springs Nationally Recognized for Financial Reporting

Coral Springs, FL – The City of Coral Springs Department of Finance was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for their 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

The GFOA ensures that the CAFR is judged by an impartial panel of peers and meets the high standards of the program, clearly communicating Coral Springs’ financial story. This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This recognition represents the professionalism and management of the Coral Springs Finance Department.

Of the award, City Manager Frank Babinec said, “For over 40 years, staff has been committed to ensure Coral Springs is fiscally responsible, accountable and above all, thriving. This financial reporting recognition is a mere example of the contributions our city staff make to ensure our city is operationally efficient. Their level of professionalism is what makes Coral Springs the best city to live, work and raise a family.”

This marks the 41st year Coral Springs has received the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
