City Hosts Free Stop the Bleed Training Classes
Published on May 18, 2021
Coral Springs, FL – On Thursday, May 20, 2021 the city recognizes National STOP THE BLEED® Day - a one day call to action to save lives by training people across the country how to stop traumatic bleeding.
In 2018, Coral Springs revised its AED ordinance, 2018-102, to include the requirement of bleeding control kits for businesses within our jurisdictional boundaries. STOP THE BLEED® kits were provided to businesses, free of charge, and training courses offered through the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS).
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure our residents and business owners are trained, equipped, empowered and ready to help STOP THE BLEED® the city is hosting two free training sessions on National STOP THE BLEED® Day:
When: Thursday, May 20, 2021
Times: 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.
Location: Coral Springs Gymnasium, 2501 Coral Springs Drive

Of the decision to host in person STOP THE BLEED® training, Fire Chief Michael McNally says, “Coral Springs remains committed to life safety education for our residents and business owners. Implementing changes to our AED ordinance to include life-saving equipment was revolutionary and reaffirmed our efforts to educate and empower citizens to take action in saving a life when seconds count.”
