Dan Daley was elected to the City Commission in November 2012, reelected unopposed in 2014, and was named Vice Mayor in November 2015. Dan currently serves as the President of the Broward League of Cities. He has been a resident of Coral Springs since 2001 and attended local public schools including Coral Springs Middle School, Westglades Middle School, and Stoneman Douglas High School. Dan is the Founder and President of Equine Excellence Enterprises, LLC, which sells equine supplements for competitive horse breeds across Florida and the United States.
Dan is a graduate of Florida State University, with Cum Laude Honors, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Criminology, and was the first in his family to graduate from college. Dan has also graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law with his Juris Doctorate. Dan is a member of the Florida Bar and is a practicing litigation and land use attorney in the Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Miami offices of Shutts & Bowen, LLP.
Dan previously worked for the Florida House of Representatives as a Legislative Aide to State Representative Ari Abraham Porth. During that time Dan was instrumental in helping pass smart legislation such as the Jeffrey Klee Memorial Act (named after a young Coral Springs man who lost his life), which eliminated the statute of limitations in murder or manslaughter civil cases. Dan’s work also focused on issues facing the homeless community, and legislation that eventually led to the creation of the Office of the Inspector General in Broward County, a position that targets government waste and corruption.
Dan has been involved with several City boards and committees over the years and currently serves as the Commission Liaison to the Economic Development Advisory Committee, the Customer Involved Government Committee, the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee, the Coral Springs Charter School Advisory Board, and the Neighborhood and Environmental Committee.
Dan served with the United States Air Force as a contracted cadet with the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Florida State University, Detachment 145, and has been involved with several charities that support the soldiers serving our country and their families. During the more than ten (10) years that Dan worked with the United States Air Force Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol), he left a lasting impact on countless teenagers, the majority of which live in Coral Springs.
