Scott Brook

Scott J. Brook was sworn in by long-time friend and colleague, Judge Carroll Kelly, as Mayor for the City of Coral Springs during a ceremony held in Commission Chambers on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

As a proud resident of Coral Springs since 1997, Brook’s values are rooted in his love of family.  A proud father and grandfather, Brook and his wife, Brenda, have five children and three grandchildren. As a partner in the law firm, Brodzki, Jacobs and Brook, he advocates for families and parents leading community conversations that encourage Coral Springs residents, business owners and visitors to work together like family.

Brook is quite familiar with service in the City of Coral Springs, he served on as a City Commissioner from 2002-2006 and served as the City’s Mayor from 2006 to 2010.  During his term as Mayor, the City of Coral Springs became the first city in the USA to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. During his terms of service, Brook consistently demonstrated his commitment to bridging the gap between the citizens of Coral Springs and local government, further promoting transparency and a united community.

Brook graduated from Tulane University in 1985, and he remained at Tulane to obtain an M.B.A. on a fellowship. Brook graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. As a member of the Florida Bar, Brook has practiced successfully before the Florida Supreme Court, the First District Court of Appeal, the Judges of Compensation Claims of the tri-county area, as well as the Dade and Broward State Courts. Brook is also a private mediator.
