Lieutenant Amy Allen graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Studies. She began her career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1996 as a Law Enforcement Officer. She served in the Patrol Unit until she was promoted to Investigator and transferred to the Vice Intelligence & Narcotics Unit.
In 2003, she was promoted to Sergeant and supervised the Patrol, Special Investigations, and VIN units. She has served as a Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator for SRT, Citizen’s Police Academy Instructor, and a Response to Resistance Board member. In May of 2010, Lt. Allen was promoted to the rank of lieutenant where she currently supervises the Patrol Unit.
She received a Team Citation Award (Domestic Violence Team) – 1998, Exceptional Police Initiative – 1999, Life Saving Commendation – 2006, Administrative Services Commendation – 2007, 2010, and numerous letters of commendation and employee recognition throughout her career.
